Curriculum

The curricular and pedagogical structure of the school will be guided by the New Education Policy 2020 design comprising of the Foundational stage, Preparatory stage, Middle Stage and Secondary Stage.

We envision an education system that encourages students to question, be independent thinkers, creative problem solvers and confident decision makers with sound ethical moorings and values.

Our Curriculum Approach

Our curriculum is based on the NCERT guidelines and focuses on the following

  • To promote holistic development of each student in both academic and non-academic spheres.
  • Nurtures individuality and enhances one’s innate potential.
  • Emphasis on conceptual understanding, creativity, critical thinking and innovation.
  • A deep sense of respect towards the Fundamental Duties and Constitutional values, pride in India and it’s rich culture and traditions.
  • Life skills such as communication, teamwork and resilience.
  • Spirit of service, respect for others and public property, courtesy, cleanliness, empathy and pluralism.
  • Extensive use of innovative teaching pedagogies and technology to develop scientific outlook and transformative competencies to meet the demands of changing society.
Curriculum Plan:

The school curriculum gives due importance to both Scholastic as well as Co-scholastic areas. We have infused the teaching of each subject with seven core areas which include Value education, Gender Sensitivity, Life Skill Education, Information Technology, Environmental Education, Human Rights Education, Health and Wellness education.

Integrated Curriculum:

Our integrated curriculum links the learning content in one subject area to a related content in another subject area. For instance, topics learned in Science or Math can be used by students with related concepts and skills in languages. The quality of learning outcomes improves as students are able to integrate information across disciplines instead of acquiring them in isolation.

Foundational Stage: Pravesh Vatika, Upvan, I, II

Learning at this stage is an interactive process in which children learn through play and fun-based activities. Learning can be enhanced through playful activities that provoke imagination, creativity, innovation and problem solving through diverse and unique ways. Our students enjoy the freedom to explore, express and interact within their safe and joyful environment.

Textbooks as prescribed by CBSE will be incorporated.

The Key Learning Domains which are focused are:

  • Language and Literacy (Listening and attention, Understanding, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
  • Numeracy (Mathematical skills)
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Motor Skills Development
  • Aesthetics and Creative Expression

Our educators will regularly monitor the progress of every child through observations- anecdotal records, checklists and analysing artefacts – work samples, worksheets. Our assessment will be well-designed and aligned to the Learning Outcomes and Competencies of the Foundational Stage.

Preparatory Stage: III, IV, V

The Preparatory Stage will comprise three years of education building on the play, discovery, and activity-based pedagogical and curricular style of the Foundational Stage.

In this stage we will incorporate aspects of more formal but interactive classroom learning, in order to lay a solid groundwork across subjects, including reading, writing, speaking, physical education, art, languages, science, and mathematics.

Middle Stage: VI, VII, VIII

The middle stage builds on the pedagogical and curricular style of the Preparatory stage with the introduction of subject teachers for learning and discussion of more abstract concepts in each subject that students will be ready for at this stage across the sciences, mathematics, arts, social sciences, and humanities.

Secondary Stage: IX, X, XI, XII

The Secondary Stage will comprise of four years of multidisciplinary study, building on the subject-oriented pedagogical and curricular style of the Middle Stage, but with greater depth, greater critical thinking, greater attention to life aspirations, and greater flexibility and student choice of subjects.

We believe that students can successfully mature into lifelong learners if the secondary program addresses all facets of student growth.

Assessments:

The school will employ appropriate and meaningful assessment tools which will be compliant with the assessment policy of CBSE to measure the growth in scholastic as well as co scholastic areas. We will use different tools and rubrics to assess the development of students based on subject specific parameters.
